"Languages and Cultural Identity" When?

In Aix-en-Provence, southern France Who can participate?
For everybody who is interested in foreign languages, cultures, who wants to meet people and to exchange experiences. Age or the nationality do not matter. Everybody is welcome.
The International Forum will be done and organized by and for the participants. You can determine it on your own and help to create an international atmosphere where people listen and learn from each other.
On the International Forum 2006 the focus is set on Languages. However in order understand a country`s people you don`t just have to speak their language. You also have to get an idea about how they life, their daily life and problems. This meeting is going to help you understand the one world we are living in and which can be seen from so many points of view. Some themes to present or to discuss:
Language - Mini language courses, the development of certain languages
Way of living -A day in …
Landscapes - Photos, Posters, Pictures, Collages
History - What has changed or marked the country in the past?
Poetry and Literature - Your own or favourite poems, texts, authors etc...
Food - Receips... Introduction of national specialities to the other participants
Music - Contemporary and traditional music, dances, national anthems, instrumental Performences
Ah really?? - Funny / interesting anecdotes about a country / person. Things nobody knows.
Fun and Quizzes - Quizzes, Games, Jokes, Cartoons At the International Forum 2006 there will also be a Short Story Contest:
Send us a fictional or non-fictional short story ( < 2 pages). Illustrate the customs or everyday life in your country. What are your experiences with foreigners, abroad or with foreign languages? All the received stories will be exposed during the International Meeting in Aix-en-Provence and the participants can elect the best text. The three best writers will win a price.
